The broadband polarizing beamsplitter  cube is composed of a pair of right angle prisms glued together, and a polarizing beam splitter film designed for the working wavelength is coated on the slope of one right angle prism. It uses a substrate material with a higher refractive index to meet design requirements over a wider range of design wavelengths. The incident light is split into two orthogonal linearly polarized light beams, with p-polarized light transmitted and s-polarized light reflected. Each surface of the cube is coated with an anti reflective film to minimize surface reflection loss.
