Plano Convex Cylindrical Lens
Plano convex cylindrical lens consists of a plane and a convex cylindrical surface, with a positive focal length.it highly suitable for one-dimensional magnification applications. Conventional spherical lenses have symmetrical effects on incident light in two directions, while cylindrical lenses only have one effect on incident light in one direction. A single cylindrical lens can focus the diverging beam onto the detector array, while a pair of plano convex cylindrical lenses can be used to collimate and circularize the output of laser diodes, achieving the shaping of deformed beams. To minimize spherical aberration, when converging a collimated beam into a line, the collimated light should be incident from the curved surface of the lens, while when using a collimated light source, the line light source should be incident from the plane of the lens.
