Lateral Displacement Beamsplitter is made up of a right angle prism and an oblique prism glued together. When a beam of light passes through it, two parallel beams of light are produced, and the lateral displacement of these two beams of light can be controlled by adjusting the length of the oblique prism. It can also be used in reverse to merge two parallel beams of light into one beam of light.
